If you do purchase Cradle of Rome you will not be disappointed. This game is simply stunning, with really high quality graphics and a fun gameplay. In each level you will need to remove the blue marble tiles from underneath the icons you match.
Once you have removed all of the blue tiles the level will end and you will be able to count all of the items that you collected. Gold and silver coins will give you money, stone and wood will give you materials and flour and meat will give you food. Each of these materials is important as you use them to build your town.
Each level has a timer, but it is a long one, especially in the earlier levels. You can choose to finish the level fast or let the timer run down and collect materials. At the end when the totals are added up you will receive a bonus to 1 resource based on how fast you finished the level. These bonuses can get over 2000 so it can be worth finishing a level as fast as you can.
All of the materials you collect are used to buy new buildings for your growing empire. Each building that you buy has a little historical information, as well as a new item or power that you can use. Once you have the building that item or power is available for the rest of the game.
When you unlock a booster a new icon will appear in your match 3 games, for example the hammer will be something that you can collect. Every time you match 3 or more hammers you charge up the bar at the bottom, when it is full you can use that booster and remove any single tile, or chains.
Each power is different, and the charges carry over between levels, so if you fill the hammer bar but don’t use it, it will be available in the next game that you play ready and fully charged. Other powers include removing 20 random tiles or creating special bombs.
Unlike many games, matching more than 3 icons does not create a special item, instead it will give you more points. Each icon has specific number of points, and you gain more points the more you match in 1 go, matching 3 coins will give you 9, matching 5 will give you 15 for example.
Cradle of Rome is a really fun and engaging game to play. With a unique style of using boosters and charging them up. Making the resources you need is fun, and you have several different methods available in each game.
The graphics are truly amazing and have a really smooth style. The buildings look amazing and your empire really does grow before your eyes. With lots of levels to play and fun unique twists on the match 3 style game Cradle of Rome is a worthy investment. Cradle of Rome Summary
